Shrawls Philosophy …My philosophy was that the pieces should reflect who I was as a performing artist, and the circumstances in which they are made i.e.: an actress in the midst of the creative process. I see the pieces as moving items – the dancer and the dance – the wearer wakens the garment into life. And vice versa. Like a play script – on the shelf it gathers dust but once somebody picks it up and reads it aloud it’s a living breathing entity.
Yarns are sourced based on their colour and quality of materials. Silk and mohair are the main materials finished regularly with leathers or something else fabulous. There are very few duplicates, and always made by myself by hand on the move.
