The Design House: From the beginning . . .

The Design House opened its doors in October of 2013 and the rest is history!

Our mission was to offer customers a unique and creative shopping experience in a beautiful setting. Our Georgian building in the heart of Dublin’s City Center provided the perfect backdrop for the booming artist collective that makes The Design House what it is today.

We started out simply, with one in-house seamstress and enough room for fellow designers to work and consult with their clients. Over time the hub grew larger, implementing many designers into the building and offering classes to the public. Today, The Design House not only holds fashion designers, jewellers, milliners and artists but also technology specialists, photographers, and web designers offering their services to the public. The addition of an in-house Italian cafe, now known as Dolce Sicily, provided an extra layer of delight to the already thriving Design House.

Over time The Design House began gaining recognition from popular media, such as TV3 Xpose and Ireland AM as well as publications such as The Irish Times and many more.

After a successful first year of business, it was time for The Design House to participate in the Dublin Fashion Festival of September 2014. We partnered with The Grafton Lounge to display the Autumn/Winter 2014 collections of designers from the Grafton Quarter. The festival took place on September 6th on Royal Hiberian Way.

The Design House recently wrapped a very successful charity fashion show with The Mater Foundation displaying our 2015 Summer collections. We are thrilled to be participating in the 2015 Dublin Fashion Festival as well as Dublin Fashion Week this fall, and will be celebrating our 2nd birthday in October!
